FEDERmidable!

Yes, I know this is a blog about literature, but today, after watching Roger Federer beat Novak Djokovic in a classic duel of champions in which the greatest of all time narrowly defeated the greatest of 2011 (as characterized by Rafael Nadal, who is somewhere in between those two categories himself), I have to say that it was almost as thrilling to see Federer rise like Lazarus and take down one of the younger lions who block his path to a return to #1--now Sunday Federer will try for his sweetest, and his greatest, Slam!

And by the way, I am certain that William Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte and James Joyce would ALL have been Federer fans, because he is a consummate artist, as they were.

Cheers, ARNIE

P.S.--watch this memorable part of the match:
